Global Project Business Quality Leader (m/f/d)
Shape Quality into a Strategic Advantage for Hager’s Project Business
Hager’s Project Business is a strategic growth area focused on complex power distribution applications and solutions for buildings, industry and infrastructure. As the business expands, our next challenge is to establish a quality model that supports profitable growth, strengthens customer trust and ensures that every project performs as designed across the complete solution lifecycle.
We are looking for a Global Project Business Quality Leader to build and lead this transformation.
This is not a traditional quality role focused solely on product conformity, certification or established quality systems. Your mandate is broader: ensure that everything we design, configure, sell, manufacture, deliver, install and commission performs as one complete solution in the customer’s project environment.
Reporting directly to the Vice President Project Business, you will have the visibility, sponsorship and influence to make quality a competitive advantage for Hager’s Project Business.
Where You Will Make the Difference
Build the Global Project Business Quality Model
Define the quality principles, governance and processes across the complete project lifecycle, from specification and engineering through configuration, manufacturing, logistics, installation, commissioning and after-sales.
Strengthen Quality at Solution and Application Level
Go beyond individual product and system conformity to ensure that hardware, software, engineering choices and applications perform together as intended. Integrate quality into customer requirements, specifications, solution design, engineering and project preparation. Identify technical, operational and execution risks early and ensure that appropriate preventive actions are taken.
Improve Customer experience and Field Quality
Lead the Project Business approach to major customer complaints, field issues and critical escalations. Ensure fast containment, robust root-cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions. Strengthen quality and reliability standards for installation, commissioning and field performance. Convert customer and field feedback into structural improvements across products, engineering, processes and partner networks.
Reduce the Cost of Poor Quality
Establish transparency on the Cost of Poor Quality, warranty exposure and quality-related project risks. Identify the main drivers of quality cost and define focused improvement priorities. Build preventive mechanisms that reduce rework, delays, claims, warranty costs and customer dissatisfaction.
Lead Across the Project Business Ecosystem
Act as a strategic quality partner to R&D, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Service and Group Quality. Lead and develop the Project Business quality organization and broader quality community. Influence senior stakeholders and functional teams in an international matrix organization.
Strengthen collaboration with panel builders, system integrators, contractors, installers and other partners involved in delivering the final solution. Establish structured partner qualification, onboarding, audit and performance improvement approaches.
Make Quality Performance Visible
Define a focused set of indicators covering customer quality, project quality, field performance, partner quality and Cost of Poor Quality. Develop dashboards and project review mechanisms that provide fact-based visibility on quality performance and emerging risks. Use field data, trend analysis and root-cause insights to prioritize improvement actions. Provide transparent reporting and recommendations to Project Business leadership and relevant Group functions.
What Success Looks Like
During your first three years, you will have:
- Established and deployed a scalable global Project Business Quality framework.
- Embedded quality and risk management earlier in the project and engineering lifecycle.
- Clarified quality ownership and accountability across functions, regions and partners.
- Reduced major customer escalations, recurring field issues and Cost of Poor Quality.
- Improved installation, commissioning and partner quality performance.
- Built a transparent, fact-based view of quality risks and improvement priorities.
- Positioned quality as a recognized contributor to customer trust, project performance, profitability and future growth.
What You Bring
Experience and Technical Expertise
You combine strong quality expertise with a practical understanding of complex project, engineering and solution businesses.
You bring:
- A university degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical field.
- Significant experience in quality, engineering or operations leadership within an international, project-driven industrial environment.
- Strong exposure to complex electrical systems, engineered solutions, applications or comparable technical project businesses.
- A thorough understanding of system, solution and application quality, beyond individual product conformity.
- Proven experience in customer quality, field quality, complaints, critical escalations, warranty topics and Cost of Poor Quality.
- Sound knowledge of quality and risk management, certification processes and relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and CE requirements.
- Practical experience with methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, root-cause analysis, Six Sigma or equivalent approaches.
- Experience defining quality governance, processes and performance indicators across functions and regions.
- Experience in electrical distribution, switchgear, panel building, system integration, infrastructure, EPC or comparable project environments would be particularly valuable.
Leadership Capabilities
You can:
- Build a new capability and mobilize others around a clear vision.
- Lead international teams and communities in a complex matrix structure.
- Influence senior stakeholders without relying solely on hierarchical authority.
- Translate strategic quality ambitions into pragmatic operational standards.
- Remain structured, decisive and customer-focused during critical escalations.
- Move comfortably between customer discussions, technical reviews, project decisions and executive conversations.
- Communicate complex issues clearly and convert data into focused business actions.
What Really Makes the Difference
You see quality as a business enabler, not simply as a control function.
You challenge root causes rather than symptoms and understand how engineering, operations, partners and project execution combine to shape the customer experience.
You know where strong standards are essential, but you also recognize the importance of pragmatism, ownership and speed in a project environment.
Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to build something new and create a visible, lasting impact on customers and business performance.
